Company

Industrial Array is founded on our core belief of promoting American made tool and supplies specifically for the construction, manufacturing, tool and die, and auto mechanic industries.

We understand this is the very definition of giving back to our vital local communities and their families.

Our story began in picturesque Meadville - a small town in Northwestern Pennsylvania, recognized nationally as the Tool and Die Capital of North America. Meadville is the home to hundreds of vital local manufacturers.  Thousands of industrious Americans thrive in these small businesses and their friendships and stories are the inspiration for offering smaller American businesses an equal footing in the current “bigger is better” marketing and delivery system that often does not work to the benefit of the local manufacturer or entrepreneur who is paying retail in a wholesale marketplace.

As the owner of a local CPA firm, I worked closely with numerous companies and witnessed firsthand – particularly during the recessions in 1999 and 2008, how small manufacturers were shutting down, layoffs were common and banks were foreclosing on business loans and their family dreams. In the early 2000’s, one of my clients’ national customer brought in a Chinese delegation to silently observe their business practices and procedures.  Within a year of this meeting, this customer had furloughed these local American jobs and relocated all of their work to mainland China.  In 2020, we were dealing with a global pandemic and small business were being forced to close their doors because of health concerns.  The public was left with large-box retailers and the mega online providers for products increasingly sourced overseas.  At the close of 2020, it was estimated that 800 small business closed their doors daily due to the ramifications of COVID-19.  In this environment, small businesses are pursuing a more robust online and marketing presence in a digital environment that rewards national branding within a delivery system designed for large retail coupled with national marketing.

Over the decades, federal policies have rewarded the largest national chains and multi-national corporations. Yet a growing body of research has proved a fact that local Chambers of Commerce and business associations already recognize. Small-scale, locally owned businesses create communities that are more prosperous, more entrepreneurial, more connected and generally better off across a wide range of metrics.

According to research conducted in Salt Lake City, for every dollar spent in the US through a small business, fifty-two cents recirculates into their local economy, compared to a meager fourteen cents from online sales and big box retail. What is abundantly clear is little goes back to support our small businesses in our local communities.  Who does this impact the most?

  • The hometown banker who coaches little league after work
  • The farmer who is a “First Responder” and member of the local Volunteer Fire Department.
  • The small town professional that donates to local causes with a “Buy Local” emphasis.
  • The small-town bakery that donates daily leftovers to the downtown food bank.
